Centretown Gravel Rides is Back!
Riding along the Ottawa River Pathway, near Blair

And hopefully new and improved.

Hey everyone! It's been a little while. I haven't been communicating much, but I've been working on providing y'all with a better experience for tracking these rides. The most visible result of this is this new website, which I've been testing on and off for a while.

I've validated to the best of my ability that this is working, but I'm not entirely certain. If you can comment below or just shoot me an email, that would be great, just to confirm this is working! I've ported over the full list of emails I have collected over the last few years of running this group.

What's the plan for this year?

My plan for this year is to offload a bit more of the ride creation and leading to other regulars in this group. If you've attended these rides, there's a solid chance you've already met them.

The plan is that these ride leaders will simply post rides to this "blog", allowing folks to get ride notifications from one unified location, regardless of who is running it.

I'm also planning to slowly work through all the routes I've created, and provide them on this site as a sort of encyclopedia of routes, so even if you don't attend the rides you can use this place as inspiration. I'll provide a brief description and lessons learned. Since this will likely take some time, it'll be a project I tackle over the next few months/year.

When will rides start?

I'm going to retreat back into my winter slumber until mid March, when I hope to start running rides again (weather depending!).

From there, I hope to personally run at least one ride a week, but I don't think I can maintain the same pace as past years. It was definitely causing burnout, and I don't ever want these rides to feel like a chore.

Thanks everyone for reading! I hope everyone has a great remainder of their winter. I'm excited to ride with you later this year. 😄
